What Is Ganoderma?
Ganoderma is a polypore fungus that grows on wood, often causing significant tree damage. Typically, these fungi are characterised by their woody, shelf-like growths known as brackets or conks. They can cause a condition known as white rot, which deteriorates the lignin and cellulose, vital components that provide strength and rigidity to a tree, thereby making the trees structurally unstable. What is Sectional Felling
Sectional felling is an arboriculture technique used when a tree must be removed safely in a confined space where felling it in one piece isn’t viable. This can be due to nearby buildings, power lines, or other obstacles. The process involves:
- Removing the tree in sections.
- Starting from the top and working downwards.
- Ensuring each piece can be safely controlled as it’s removed.
